You can protect yourself by following the tips and advice below: 

• Beware of fake emails & texts. If you receive an email that you have no idea where it’s from, delete it. Don't click on any links or attachments.
• Know your seller. If a deal seems too good to be true it probably is and could be a scam.
• Use secure sites. Always look for the padlock symbol and “https” in the web address to make sure it’s secure. 
• Don't share private information online. Scammers are convincing. Never give anybody your login, PIN or passwords. 
• Protect your devices by installing antivirus and anti-malware software and ensure all software and browsers are up-to-date.  
• Beware of unsecure public Wi-Fi. When accessing online banking in public, disable the Wi-Fi and switch to your mobile data.

• Always logout completely when you finish online banking.

Internet Security

To protect your information as it travels through the Internet, Cayman National uses multiple overlapping layers of security safeguard all communication.

Firewall

The firewall, which is positioned between the Internet and Cayman National’s network, can inspect all traffic that passes through it for a number of characteristics including message formatting and type of access requested.

If the information fails any security checks, the information is prevented from passing through the firewall in either direction.

SSL Security                      

In addition, data is also protected by Secure Socket Layer (SSL) security. SSL security is a method of encoding information and data so that only the intended recipient can decode it, and is among the most widely-used method of securing internet transactions.

In addition to banking transactions, the Mail feature of its Online Banking System, Cayman Global, uses SSL security to also provide a secure mechanism for forwarding confidential information from you to Cayman National.

It is important to note that unless you are logged in to Cayman Global and using the Mail feature, your email is not encrypted. You should always use Cayman Global's Mail feature when communicating personal information about your transactions or bank accounts to Cayman National’s Internet Banking Support Team.

Access To Information

In addition, in the case of Internet Banking, you are required to enter not only your Password and User Name but also an extra level of security parameter called the Access Code.

Passwords are encrypted on Cayman National’s system, and they are not accessible to Cayman National employees. No one connected with this web site or Cayman National will ever ask you for your password. If you receive such a request, please report it to Cayman National immediately by secure messaging or telephone.

You should choose passwords that cannot be easily guessed by anyone (e.g. your name, date of birth, pet's name, telephone number). Never share your password with anyone, and refrain from writing your password down (if you must record it, write it in a code that only you can understand).
